Johannesburg, South Africa, Harare, Zimbabwe, Vienna, Austria, Tokyo, Japan – February 21, 2012 – African Compass International Limited (“ACI” or the “Company”), today announced its Europe International Representative, met in Vienna, Austria with a representative of a potential off-taker on the Zimbabwe tungsten mining project. The meeting discussions centered amongst others the progress ACI was making in securing funding for its primary tungsten Garahanga Karoi project and samples ACI sent with respect to levels of radiation and As, as well as Pb content.
The samples results tested were said to be positive as the common pollutants (Pb, As and others) were found to be at low levels and as part of the samples were outsourced for external radiation assay to Actlabs of Canada, in light of the quantity ACI had sent due to government restrictions on sample amounts and the results were due to 2-3 weeks.
The meeting concluded with potential off-taker representative reiterating that they could well be interested in cooperation with ACI on its tungsten project. Some of the suggestions raised was the advancing of artisanal production to a stage where one can get a better insight into the deposit and its continuity. In summary, he emphasized that the potential off-taker was definitely open for cooperation with locally owned companies in Africa.
