Johannesburg, South Africa, Harare, Zimbabwe, Vienna, Austria, Tokyo, Japan – December 05, 2013 – It was with deep sorrow that African Compass International (ACI) learned of the passing away of The Honourable Nelson Rolihlahla Madiba Mandela – Madiba (1918-2013), Father of a Nation, Noble Peace Prize laureate, one the most inspiring figures of our times and a global beacon of integrity, rectitude and reconciliation.
As a South Africa domiciled Company, ACI extends its most sincere condolences to the family of The Honourable Mandela and the people of South Africa on the passing of a man who in a lifetime of steadfast service to the country left an indelible mark on the world.
In doing so he not only became renowned and revered by his peers, but became a symbol that will endure wherever people strive for freedom and democracy. He achieved greatness and national affection through his humanity as a great peacemaker by bringing people together despite their differences. He showed South Africans and the world community of nations that a great leader could work tirelessly towards transformation and build a democratic society, while embracing forgiveness, conciliation and true respect for all.
As we all celebrate the life and times of The Honourable Mandela, we are also a nation in mourning, our sorrow infused with memories of a legacy that will guide us long into the future. Our much loved The Honourable Mandela leaves behind a South Africa that is poorer for his passing away, but a country richer for his contribution. We at ACI pledge our continued support to living up to the legacy of a great man.
