Dr. Correia is the Chief Geologist and holds a Degree in Geology from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and Masters Degree in Management and Technology of Mineral Resources from Porto University, Portugal. He holds a PhD in Geochemistry and Geophysics of Carbonate and Alkaline Rocks and their Economic Potential in terms of Rare Elements, from the University of Algarve, Portugal and Huelva, Spain.
From 1998 to 2009 he was a lecturer at the University of Algarve, Faro, Portugal in Mineral Resources, Geology, Mineralogy, Geochemistry, Petrology, and Environmental Geology and participated in the orientation of Research Projects in Geological Mapping and Prospecting of Mineral Resources through the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools. In 2009 he was the consultant of the Provincial Government of Cabinda, Angola, for the Department of Geology and Mines. He has vast knowledge of Geology and Mineral Resources of Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in particular and West Africa in general.
Since 2010 he exercised as Senior Geologist and Consultant in basic and noble mineral prospecting and exploration in Africa, having travelled through several countries, such as Angola, DRC, Republic of the Congo, South Africa and Namibia as well as working on Geological Mapping in some important areas of West Africa.
